For by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned. Matt. 12:37
It's especially important and wise to watch your words when your spouse is not on the same page that you are spiritually. The challenge in Psalm 19:4 * is that our words be acceptable in the Lord's sight. What are acceptable words?
The words of the Lord are pure words. Psalm 12:6
My words [come] from my upright heart; my lips utter pure knowledge. Job 33:3
For truly my words are not false. Job 36:4
A soft answer turns away wrath; but a harsh word stirs up anger. Prov. 15:1
The words of the pure are pleasant. Prov. 15:26
Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. Prov. 16:24
He who has knowledge spares his words, [and] a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. Prov. 17:27
Words of the wise spoken quietly [should be] heard. Eccl. 9:17
The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious. Eccl. 10:12
Not with persuasive words of human wisdom but in demonstration of the spirit and of the power. 1 Cor. 2:4
Therefore, comfort one another with these words. 1 Thess 4:18*Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord my strength and my Redeemer.
